CU Denver partners with four rural community colleges: Lamar Community College, Northeastern Junior College, Otero College, and Trinidad State College to offer a flexible and innovative pathway for individuals living in rural Colorado to earn a bachelor’s degree without leaving home. The Partnership for Rural Educator Preparation (T-PREP) graduates earn a Bachelor of Arts in Education and Human Development and a teaching license from CU Denver while enrolled in face-to-face classes taught by CU Denver faculty on the community college campus or online in classes with other rural students.
The following licenses are available in these four partnership pathways:
CU Denver’s T-PREP partnership with Otero College in La Junta offers a bachelor’s degree and licensure options in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Middle School Math, Secondary Science and Special Education. T-PREP imbeds field experiences where teacher candidates work with students in community-based programs and within local districts throughout their program.
